Haitian Orphans - Rehabilitation Program
Once in a while a Haitian orphan with special needs comes to our attention. Special needs children are often difficult to place for adoption, and orphanages simply do not have the resources to give a lot of individual attention to a child with challenges. Some of these children have curable diseases, others simply need physiotherapy or other treatments that will greatly improve their chances of being adopted, or at least surviving an institutional childhood. This program brings such children to our Rehabilitation Centre located in Chilliwack, British Columbia. The centre is operated by Frank & Esther King who are both registered nurses with extensive experience in pediatric and special needs care. Together with their dedicated team of staff and volunteers, they provide some of the most needy orphans with the best possible chance for improving their quality of life. Please consider making a donation to this very special program. Canadian tax receipts will be issued. ****PROJECT COMPLETED**** **** UPDATE**** The fundraiser for this project at Chilliwack Alliance Church on November 1 was a great success. Over 250 people attended and many showed their support by donations and volunteering assistance. Thank you to everyone who supported this event. We have one child at the centre right now who needs some complex (and expensive) medical care. If you have been considering contributing to this project, now would be a very good time! Thanks.
