Vizag Bethany Children's Home

Visakhapatnam, India

At the end of October 2004, a team of medical professionals coordinated by Sovereign Grace Ministries traveled to Visakhapatnam in the Bay of Bengal, Eastern India.

The team of 22 supported the efforts of local Pastor P. Yesupadam who directs a ministry comprising Church Planting, Schools, Pastoral Training, Hospitals, Homes for the Elderly, and Orphanages.

The focus of the trip was to provide medical clinics in the many villages in the region that do not have access to medical care.

The team treated a total of 7,500 patients.

We are greatful to our Restoring Hope supporters and many friends at CrossWay Community Church who provided the funding for Sue Smith to join the team. Sue brought a number of skills to the mission; her background in critical and geriatric care was put to good use.

A further expedition is planned for November 2005; we hope Restoring Hope will again be privileged to provide a team member.
